Kitchener traffic stop nets arrest of two men, seizure of drugs, gun

Suspects were in possession of multiple forms of narcotics, including suspected fentanyl and a large quantity of illicit pills, police said

A 27-year-old male and a 34-year-old male, both from Kitchener, were arrested and charged for multiple criminal offences after a traffic stop in Kitchener.

Waterloo regional police say on March 12, at approximately 8:30 a.m., they received a complaint of suspicious activity in the area of Norbert Place and Nelson Avenue.

Police responded and located two males who matched the descriptions as they were leaving in a vehicle.

Officers conducted a traffic stop, and through the investigation, discovered the two were in possession of multiple forms of narcotics, including suspected fentanyl and a large quantity of illicit pills.

Officers also located a firearm, ammunition, and two prohibited weapons.

The men were held in police custody for a bail hearing.
