Waterloo Regional Police were called to a construction site near Church and Benton streets in Kitchener yesterday after workers found skeletal remains.
During the excavation at a construction site, workers located the remains and contacted the police.
WRPS’ General Investigations Unit attended the scene with the assistance of a forensic anthropologist and the Office of the Chief Coroner.
Through the investigation, it was determined the body was placed there by no suspicious or criminal actions.
The Ministry of Public Health and Business Service Delivery and Procurement has taken over the handling of this matter.
