Cambridge trio face drug charges after police execute search warrants

Search warrants executed at a West Galt home and Hespeler Road business result in seizure of several suspected drugs

Three people from Cambridge are facing numerous charges for drug trafficking after a four-month investigation ended with the execution of search warrants at a West Galt home and a Hespeler Road business Nov. 8. 

Waterloo Regional Police Service's Drugs and Firearms Unit began its investigation into the sale of illicit drugs in Cambridge last July. 

On Wednesday, officers arrested three individuals, a 32-year-old woman, a 56-year-old man, and a 37-year-old man, all from Cambridge.

Following the arrests, members of the Drugs and Firearms Unit and Emergency Response Team completed search warrants at a residence in the West Galt area of Cambridge and a business on Hespeler Road in Cambridge.

During the search warrants, investigators located and seized suspected fentanyl, suspected cocaine, suspected hydromorphone, suspected methamphetamine, and suspected oxycodone. 

 

As a result of the investigation, the 57-year-old male was charged with the following offences: 

  • Trafficking a Controlled Substance (three counts)
  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance (three counts)

The 37-year-old male and the 32-year-old female were both charged with two counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking. The 37-year-old male was also charged with two counts of Trafficking a Controlled Substance.

The accused parties were held in police custody for a bail hearing.
