Cambridge man charged after firearms stolen from vehicle

Waterloo Regional Police have arrested a male after firearms were stolen from a vehicle in Cambridge. 

On October 20, 2024, police began an investigation into the theft of several firearms from a vehicle in the area of Main Street and Concession Street. 

As part of the ongoing investigation, Waterloo Regional Police’s General Investigations Unit, with assistance from the Drugs and Firearms Unit, arrested a male suspect on October 21, 2024 in the West Galt area of Cambridge.

The male, a 36-year-old from Cambridge, has been charged with Theft from Motor Vehicle, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, and Possession of Stolen Property Under $5,000.

The accused is being held in police custody for a bail hearing.

The investigation remains ongoing by WRPS’ General Investigations Unit.
