Passed away peacefully on Friday, May 31, 2024 at Cambridge Memorial Hospital.

Predeceased by her beloved husband, Jack in May 1997.
Loving mother of son, Kim Wanklin and his wife Sandra of Cambridge.  Cherished grandmother of Stacey Wanklin of Cambridge, Jon Wanklin and his wife, Jaime of Kitchener. Also missing her are precious great granddaughters Ruby and Violet Wanklin.

Shirley was born and raised in Hespeler, moving to Galt when she married Jack in November 1947.  She is predeceased by parents, Clarence and Agnes (Cudney) Bartels and her sister Irene Hall.  Survived by her sister-in-law Eileen (Wanklin) Dykeman.

Shirley was still driving and living on her own until a year ago when she moved to Queens Square Retirement Residence.  There she thrived, fully enjoying all the activities, making new friends and playing daily Euchre games.

Shirley was an active life time member of the Lutheran church. At St Paul’s Lutheran Church she had served on the alter guild, a member of the LCW and the quilting group for many years.

Shirley was also a long time member of the Allan Reuter Senior Centre. She was active in the walking group for decades, along with other groups and activities.
Resting at Corbett Funeral Home, 95 Dundas St., Cambridge, where family and friends will be received on Tuesday June 4, 2024, from 7-9p.m. Funeral Services will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday June 5, 2024, at 11a.m. Interment to take place at Moun View Cemetery, 80 Blenheim Rd, Cambridge.
