With her family by her side at her residence on Sunday, June 2, 2024, in her 71st year. Best friend and dear wife of Ron and beloved mother of Jennifer Bain (Jason) of Lindsay, Elizabeth Follings (Chris) of Cambridge, Kristina Martens (Adam) of Toronto and David Rogers of Paris. Cherished Gramma of Joseph, Jacqueline, Grace, William, Jacob, Jessie and Viola. Loving sister of Kathy Murphy (Jerry) of Port Elgin, Chris Benns (Darlene) of Greenville, NC and Mary Feairs (Late Travis) of Mount Forest. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Bernice Benns and parents-in-law, Buck and Jessie Rogers.
Barb was a devoted wife of 46 years and a wonderful mother who was always there when needed most, offering kindness and love in abundance. She found great joy in her special role as Gramma. A true friend, Barb loved to make her home a beautiful and welcoming place and spent many hours in her gardens. She was a faithful member of St. Patrick’s R.C. Church, Cambridge for over 40 years. Barb was also a long-time member of the CWL and actively served on several committees.
Resting at the Corbett Funeral Home, 95 Dundas St. N., Cambridge where the family will receive friends on Thursday, June 6 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s R.C. Church, 53 Wellington St., Cambridge on Friday, June 7 at 11 A.M. Interment to take place at St. Andrews R.C. Cemetery, Brechin, Ontario.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society of Waterloo Wellington, the Sunnyside Foundation or St. Patrick’s Church would be appreciated by the family. Parish prayers will be recited at the funeral home Thursday at 8:30 p.m.
