It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Luis “Richard” Daniel Rebelo on December 1, 2024 at the age of 33, who left this world far too soon but will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him.

Richard was the cherished son of Roxanne Burt (Frank) and Luis Rebelo (Kathleen) and a beloved grandson to Luis and Maria Rebelo. He is deeply mourned by his siblings Christina (Mike), Nathan (Scotia), Victoria (Josh), Erica and Rodney (Jocelyn) and by his 15 nieces and nephews Steven, Erica, Marcus, Mason, Kallie, Joseph, Nylah, Nova, Willow, Violet, Layla, Xavior, Caylee, Sophie and Gracie, who adored their uncle. Among his closest bonds was Michael Mendes, his cousin, best friend, and ultimately his brother in every sense of the word. He will also be lovingly remembered by his many aunts, uncles and cousins, all of whom deeply miss his radiant presence. Predeceased by his Nanny and Poppy Richard, Ruby Burt and many other loved ones who are now greeting him in heaven.

Richard’s love for life and those around him was truly unmatched. He had a way of making everyone feel special, never parting without a significant bear hug and a heartfelt “I love you.” His family meant everything to him, and his passion for fishing brought him peace and joy. A devoted fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs, Richard’s excitement for hockey was infectious. He found joy in the simple things – spending time with friends and family, playing video games, watching movies, and caring for dogs, which he adored.

Richard had an extraordinary way of shining, bringing light and love to everyone he met. His absence leaves a profound void, but his memory and the love he shared will remain with us forever.

Visitation will be held at Coutts Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 96 St. Andrews Street, Cambridge on Saturday, December 7th from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The funeral service will take place in the funeral home chapel on Sunday, December 8th at 1:00 p.m. with interment to follow at Parklawn Cemetery. A reception will be held back at the funeral home following the interment.

Fond memories and donations to SPCA may be shared through the funeral home at www.couttsfuneralhome.com

Rest easy Richard, in the arms of those who have gone before you. You are loved beyond measure and will be missed more than words can express.
