SEPTEMBER 30, 1929 – JULY 4, 2021

Margaret Reta Eleanor Osbourne (née Thomas) died peacefully Sunday July 4th in her 92nd year. Predeceased by her husband Terry Osbourne (2011). She is lovingly remembered by her children Wendy, David (Linda), Andrew (Maureen), Martha (Michael) and her eleven grandchildren, Adam, Kate, Erica, Heather, Ryan, Jordan, Thomas, Brant, Sarah, Nicolas and Emilie.

Margaret was a lifetime active supporter of Trinity Anglican Church – Cambridge. She avidly gave her time and support to the Grace Thomas Group, the Hesperian Society as well as the Silver Star Society.

She knitted year-round to supply garments for all those in need. Her homemade knitted clothing was treasured by many.

Margaret was a true ‘Galt’ girl growing up enjoying the charming history and surroundings of Cambridge. She was a dedicated teacher, graduating from Western University and then obtaining her Primary Specialist Certificate from the Toronto School of Teaching. She initially taught in Toronto, until she returned to Cambridge to raise her young family. Later in life she returned once again to teaching where she taught primary school children in the small community of Jerseyville, Ontario.

A talented pianist who enjoyed music, the arts and appreciated the offerings of world travel. She loved her book club though ironically, she rarely completed reading her book assignments. She loved bridge club with friends and of course she loved social gatherings, especially where she regaled as hostess.

Margaret was a vibrant woman who exuded light and enjoyed all life had to offer. Her joy was felt by all she met, family and friends alike. She loved her second home on Lake of Bays and all the many dear friendships she made there. A Sunday brunch at the Lake was not to be missed!

A true lady who will be greatly missed by family and friends.

A private family memorial service will be held. In lieu of flowers, a donation to Trinity Anglican Church, Cambridge would be greatly appreciated.
