May 17, 1968 – February 28, 2025
It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of Diane (“Didi”) Nispel on February 28, 2025, at 56 years of age. Diane fought an extremely challenging health battle from the tender age of 18. Her health issues had subsided for many years until more recently where she fought a courageous battle which eventually led to her passing. Diane was a respected and valued employee of Shoppers Drug Mart for over 39 years and rarely missed a day of work. Diane was a very independent person who liked to do things her own way which is how she wanted it. Diane was never married and did not have any children. Diane leaves behind her mother, Sylvia Nispel and her siblings, Randy Nispel and his partner Shari Goldstein, Susan Thompson & her husband Ken, and Jim & his wife Lori. Diane was a Great Auntie to Maddy, Jackson, Ryder, Harper, Danny and Noah. Also mourning Diane’s passing are her nieces and nephews; Courtney Thompson & her husband Graeme Taylor, Kristen Nispel & her partner Matt Thomson and Brendan Nispel & his partner Ty Vo Thi Ty. Also left to grieve is Diane’s very special and dear friend Sid Chaves and her children Marco and Mateo. Diane also leaves behind her aunt, Mary Ann Muir, and cousins Wendy, Cherry, Ginny, Patsy and most notably Sandy with whom she shared a special bond. Diane was predeceased by her father, James Nispel (2018) and her sister-in-law Lou-Ann Nispel (2006).
We wish to thank the staff at the Hospice of Waterloo Region for their comfort and kindness to Diane in her final days. Donations to the Cambridge and District Humane Society would be Diane’s wish. A private family interment will be held at a later date.
