October 11, 1973 – March 8, 2025
With the heaviest of hearts, we share the passing of Raymond Myers on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Gray-Bruce Hospice, after a long and hard-fought battle with cancer at the age of 51. He passed away peacefully with his loving companion, Christina McArthur, by his side.
Raymond was the proud father of Chelsie Laurie (Austin Payne). He was the beloved son of Raymond and Marilyn (née Peddle) Myers and a dear brother to Nancy (Mark) Evans. He will also be fondly remembered by Christina’s children, Terika and Jaxson whom he cared for deeply. A cherished grandson of Don Peddle, he will be lovingly remembered by his many friends and large extended family. He is predeceased by his grandparents, Patrick and Elizabeth Myers, and Agnes Peddle.
Raymond was happiest when he was outdoors; fishing, camping, and soaking up the simple joys that life had to offer. He was the kind of man who always looked out for the underdog, never one to stand by when someone needed help. He loved a good time, good company, a cold beer and a well rolled joint. He lived life on his own terms, finding joy in the simple things and making sure that the people around him were always laughing.
Cremation has taken place and friends and family will be received on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at Coutts Funeral Home from 3 - 4 p.m. A Memorial Service will follow at 4 p.m. from the funeral home chapel.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Raymond’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Grey-Bruce Hospice Foundation who provided care, comfort and support in Raymond’s last days.
