It is with sad hearts we share the news of Margaret McKenzie-Leighton’s passing on December 13th, 2024. Margaret will be greatly missed by all who knew her and were touched by her generous kind spirit.

Margaret embraced life with passion and touched many people over the years as an educator and kindergarten teacher, choir vocalist, most notably with the Guelph Chamber Choir, musician, and as an active member of St Andrews Presbyterian church in Hespeler.

Margaret was predeceased by her loving husband of thirty years, Warren McKenzie-Leighton, mother Helene McKenzie, and father William McKenzie. She will be lovingly remembered by stepchildren Dianne Mummery Leighton, Leone Leighton, and Denise Leighton. She was a dear sister to Kenneth McKenzie, sister-in-law to Barbara McKenzie, favourite aunt to Kirsten (Elmer), Morgan (Darcy), Andrew (Chiao Lan), beloved grandmother to Amy Leighton-Bickel, and also a great aunt. The family are thankful to all those expressing their condolences and memories of Margaret at this time.

Donations can be made in Margaret’s memory to St Andrews Presbyterian Church in Hespeler, Ontario, your local SPCA, or the Diabetes Society. Celebration of Life information will be available at a later date through the Corbett Funeral Home website.
