November 13, 1938 – January 18, 2025
E. John King passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at the age of 86. John leaves behind his beloved wife, Betty (nee Roche), after 64 years of marriage. Their relationship was an example to their family and all who knew them of true and lasting love.
He will be dearly missed by his children: Kathryn, Jayne (Dale Bowyer), and Suzanne (Dean Barker). Words cannot express the special and unique connection he had with each of his grandchildren. He was Papa to: Kaitlyn (Jonathan), David, Bryan, Andrew (Olivia), Rob, Keshia (Ben), Hunter (Madeline), Thomas (Erin), Erika (Ryan), Ellen, and Matthew. He was thrilled in the past couple of years to welcome his great grandchildren: Lochlan, Zoey, Mason, Nathan, and Atlas. His sister Elaine Keeping and sisters-in-law Marg King and Eleanor Smith will miss him as well. He will also be greatly missed by Barbara van Maris.
He was predeceased by his son, Rob (Braz), his parents Anne Anderson and Eugene King, brothers Bill and Don, sister Janice, and many in-laws.
John was a strong Christian and member of King Street Baptist Church for many years. He was always happy to share his faith and the impact it has had on his life. He was known as a kind and gentle man.
John's family would like to thank his wonderful care team: Ray, Chris, Lisa, Komal, Asmina, and Ariel.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 1st at 11:00 a.m. at King Street Baptist Church in Cambridge, Ontario.
