Passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at home on Monday, January 13th, 2025, at the age of 84.
Beloved husband of the late Ema Maria Pires Fagundes. Devoted father to Lily Fagundes, Paula DaCosta (Ernie), and Ana Ripley. Proud grandfather to Nicole McIntyre (Clay), Matthew Ripley (Selina), Jessica Hobin (Jeffrey), Dylan DaCosta (Taylor), Lauren Ripley (Chris), and Jordan DaCosta. Cherished great-grandfather to Rosa and Aubree McIntyre, Frieda, Lillemor, and Filomena Ripley, Bennett and Rayna Stevens and Arabella DaCosta.
Jorge was a man of deep devotion to his family, his parents, brothers and sisters, in laws as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. His love, guidance, and presence will be sorely missed. He is now reunited with his beloved wife, Ema, whose memory he cherished.
Jorge was employed for 29 years with Walker Exhaust/ Tenneco Automotive and was loved by everyone he worked with. Some of his hobbies included watching soccer games his favourite team was Benfica and fishing.
Visitation will be held at Coutts Funeral Home, 96 St. Andrews Street, Cambridge on Friday, January 17th 2025 between 10 am and 12 pm, a Funeral Service will commence at 12 pm followed by the procession where Jorge will be laid to rest beside his wife at New Hope Cemetery.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Jorge's sister, Filomena Melo, and all the PSW staff who provided exceptional care and support. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Innisfree House, in honor of his wife Ema, who passed away there in 2018 or Alzheimer Society to help those who are battling with this disease.
