It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Nina Marie Crawford on Monday, February 24, 2025 at the age of 69. Nina passed away at Cambridge Memorial Hospital with her family by her side.

Beloved mother to Thomas, Susan (Gabe) Hulsman, Michelle and Jennifer. Proud and doting Grandma to Theo, Clive, Eleanor, Jade and Sophie. Dear sister to Joe, Tom and Mike Gallo. Nina is predeceased by her loving parents Thomas and Corrine (Squaires) Gallo, her brother Larry and her cherished mother-in-law Elaine Walsh, with whom she shared a special bond. She is also predeceased by David Crawford, the father of her children. Nina will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by her many friends, including Susan, Charlotte, Elva and Jenn.

Nina was gentle but tough in her own way. She had a gift for making friends out of anyone. Throughout her life, she built friendships with people of all ages, creating close-knit groups wherever she went. Her warmth and kindness drew people in, and her laughter was always contagious. She had a way of bringing people together that made her a true joy to be around, without ever needing to try too hard.

Becoming a grandmother marked one of the most meaningful chapters of her life. She cherished her grandchildren deeply, and all the little ones who entered her life held a special place in her heart. Her love knew no bounds, and her family always knew they could rely on her for unwavering support, thoughtful gestures, and a compassionate ear.

Nina had a sharp wit and a great sense of humour, she carried a presence so comforting and genuine that people instantly felt at ease around her.

Even in the face of illness, her strength and spirit never wavered - she was a fighter through and through. She loved socializing, playing cards, she was one heck of a dart player and wasn’t afraid to show her competitive side.

After years of dedication, Nina was proud to retire as the first employee to do so at her company, an achievement made even more significant by the challenges of retiring during COVID. It was a well-earned milestone in a life filled with resilience, love, and laughter.

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held in early April, where friends and family can come together to honour the incredible woman she was.

As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Cambridge Memorial Hospital Foundation in Nina’s memory.

Our heartfelt thanks for the incredible outpouring of love and support from friends and family over these past few days. Your kind words and gestures of care and support mean more than words can express.
