Avery Edward Best, 88 years old, born in Nova Scotia March 2nd, 1936, passed away peacefully on Saturday July 20th, 2024 at People Care Hilltop Manor. Avery was the beloved husband and amazing caretaker to his wife Shirley Goebel-Best. Father to Janet Haskins, Steven Best, Ken Best and Step Dad to Charlie (Charlene) Diniz, and Lori Ellice.
Avery was predeceased by his step son Steven Hansford in 2019 and they are now together again. He was a grandfather to 8 grandchildren as well as a great-grandfather. He also was an awesome Dad to his kitty cat Dusty. Avery was also predeceased by his parents Maxwell and Betty (Elizabeth) Hall- Best and siblings June and Richard, all from Nova Scotia. We would like to thank all the Nurses and PSWs from People Care Hilltop Manor for their patience, kindness and support to our Dad, Avery.
As per Avery’s request Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
As expression of sympathy and in Avery's memory, donations can be made to the Cambridge Humane Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
