Jet Greaves is heading back to the National Hockey League.
The Columbus Blue Jackets announced on Wednesday the team is bringing up the Cambridge goaltender on an emergency recall. Greaves had been assigned to the American Hockey League's Cleveland Monsters on Oct. 5.
The move, which corresponds with the Blue Jackets putting defenceman Eric Gudbranson on injured reserve and forward Dylan Gambrell being placed on waivers, gives Columbus three goalies on its roster.
According to Aaron Portzline of The Athletic, starting goaltender Elvis Merzlikin's is expected to be out short-term with an upper-body injury.
Greaves has played in one game so far this season with the Monsters, allowing seven goals on 35 shots in a 7-3 loss to the Hershey Bears on Oct. 12. He's put together a 61-41-11 record with a 3.00 goals against average, .904 save percentage and four shutouts in 119 career AHL games.
Since making his NHL debut on April 4, 2023 in Toronto, the 23-year-old owns a 3-7-0 record with a 3.44 GAA and .912 save percentage in 10 games with Columbus.
The Blue Jackets return to action tonight at home against the Buffalo Sabres.
