NEWS RELEASE
REGION OF WATERLOO
*************************
Starting Wednesday, June 23, anyone who has not received a first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine yet, can get a first dose easily by attending one of three public vaccination clinic locations in Waterloo Region. Walk-in spots will be available for first doses only at The Boardwalk (Waterloo), Health Sciences Campus (Kitchener) and Waterloo Region Public Health (Waterloo).

The Region of Waterloo Vaccine Task Force is offering walk-in spots at these three vaccination clinics, and depending on the public response and operational capacity, may consider expanding to other clinic locations in the future.

“As the highly transmissible Delta variant spreads in our community, it is critical that we get the vaccine to people who still need to receive their first dose,” said Shirley Hilton, Deputy Chief for Waterloo Region Police Force and head of the Waterloo Region Vaccine Distribution Task Force. “No one who wants the vaccine will be left behind – these walk-in spots are available to make it easier for anyone who still needs to get a first dose.”

Individuals 12+ who want to get a first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine can skip the pre-registration and appointment booking process by dropping into one of the following locations during clinic hours:

Health Sciences Campus Vaccination Clinic
10 Victoria Street South, Kitchener
Monday to Friday: 1-4 p.m. & 5-8 p.m.
Saturday & Sunday: 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. & 1 – 4 p.m.

The Boardwalk Vaccination Clinic
435 The Boardwalk, Medical Centre 2, Suite 106, Waterloo
Open 7 days a week: 8 a.m. – 8 p.m.

Waterloo Region Public Health
99 Regina Street South, Waterloo
Open Saturday & Sunday: 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. & 1 – 3:30 p.m.

Walk-in spots are only available for individuals requiring first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. Anyone with an appointment already scheduled at one of these vaccination clinics will not be impacted.

Members of the public are asked to bring their Ontario health card or another piece of identification when they go to the vaccination clinic.
