An annual spring tradition in Victoria Park that brings smiles to children's faces is in need of assistance.
Businesses and individuals are being sought for sponsorship opportunities and to volunteer during the west Galt Easter egg hunt on April 12.
Put on each year by resident and local realtor Elyse Bouwmeester and a group of volunteers, the activity is meant to celebrate the holiday and provide an opportunity for neighbours to connect.
"I hope the kids have memories for years to come," she said prior to last year's event.
"I want people to come together to build a strong sense of community. I also hope our community can see that local businesses are working hard to make events like this happen."
Giving back is also an important part of the day. Along with the search for eggs, donations will be collected in support of Haven House.
The Waterloo region based charity offers emergency shelter and support services for women, transgender and gender-diverse people who have experienced abuse and violence.
This year's egg hunt is scheduled for April 12 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
