The City of Cambridge has issued a development update that warns residents they may see trees coming down at 255 King St. W. near the intersection of Fountain Street in Preston.
The site was approved for a three tower development in 2022.
The Ontario Land Tribunal then cleared the way for the development last year following an appeal from P&H Milling Group.
The mixed-use towers will contain up to 600 units, range in height from 14 to 16 storeys and feature commercial and retail uses on the first-floor podiums.
The city says a site alteration permit has been issued for the property and tree removal is happening in the area.
Auburn Developments, the company behind the project, is known for developments like The Barrel Yards in Waterloo, the city says.
