Fire crews from four separate stations were called to put out a trailer fire at a residence near Highway 97 this morning.

Cambridge Fire Department responded to an early morning fire near the intersection of Franklin Boulevard and Main Street East.

Police have since closed the section of road in front of the property at 795 Main St. E. while fire operations are underway.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

CFD asks that people avoid the area and expect traffic delays while the road is closed.

Local residents were confused and left wondering where the smoke was coming from.

Natasha Clarke shared a photo to the Cambridge Facebook page where black smoke rose high above the tree line.

"I was grabbing coffee at Tim’s and it seems to be on the 97 past the traffic circle…not sure if it’s a house or business fire. But there’s a lot of fire trucks and police on scene," said Joanne Smith on Facebook.

"I got to Bishop and saw a pile of fire trucks, volunteers and command post... I look in my rear view and saw the black smoke...I hope everyone is ok," wrote Chrissy Petrich Moreira.
