Congratulations to Mary Jo Quinn of Cambridge on winning $400,000 with The Big Spin Instant game

Mary Jo Quinn of Cambridge is $400,000 richer thanks to The Big Spin Instant game.

Quinn, who works in public service, says she's been playing the lottery with OLG for the past year, purchasing Lotto 6/49, Lottario, and Ontario 49 tickets weekly. She also likes to pick up an Instant ticket or two.

She's had a few small wins with The Big Spin in the past, and hoped they were a sign of bigger things to come. One day, she cashed in a winning ticket in exchange for another. This ticket would soon lead her to the OLG Prize Centre to spin The Big Spin Wheel!

“I played my ticket and saw that I had won a Spin prize, so I stopped at the store to see what I had won. When my ticket was validated, I was so confused by what I saw on the screen. The clerk said the lottery terminal was frozen,” Quinn recalled, while visiting the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto.

“I saw the words ‘Big Spin’ on the screen and started shaking. I couldn’t process what that meant! Everything the clerk said to me was met with my response of ‘What?’ I kept thinking, ‘This can’t be real!’”

“Even though there were so many unknowns, my husband and I were so excited! It was like we were a couple of teenagers,” she laughed.

“The experience was incredible,” Quinn added, reflecting on her Big Spin event. “It was surprising to see the studio and the wheel setup. That’s when it really began to feel real! I was watching the wheel spin and feeling the excitement in the room. Seeing the faces of my family as they clapped for me was such a special moment.”

“I feel so blessed to win this prize. I’ll be sharing it with my husband, kids, and grandkids. I may even get myself a new kitchen.”

The Big Spin Instant game is an exciting $5 game that combines popular scratch play with prizes revealed in-store by an animated spinning wheel on the lottery terminal screen and potentially, an in-person spin on The Big Spin Wheel at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto.

The winning ticket was purchased at Little Short Stop on Dundas Street South in Cambridge.
