As the cold weather rolls in, the Cambridge Shelter Corporation is seeking donations of warm clothing.
The shelter is in immediate need of coats, sweaters, toques and gloves.
Financial donations are also being accepted.
Of every dollar spent by the CSC, only 70 cents comes by way of funding, which means 30 per cent of the money spent on its programs and services is collected through donations and events.
The Bridges is the only emergency men's shelter in the city and serves hundreds of people a day. According to the shelter, using a “housing first” model, it focuses on helping individuals overcome the barriers that hamper their move to appropriate and permanent housing.
Donations of clothing can be dropped off at 26 Simcoe St.
