Waterloo Region and Wellington County are now under a special weather statement.
Environment Canada says significant rain and freezing rain is possible Wednesday morning, and continuing into the evening hours.
The weather agency is calling for up to 8 mm of freezing rain with ice accretion, and strong winds of up to 70 km/h.
The local rainfall amount is likely to be up to 20 mm, which could cause flooding in some areas.
Local power outages and icy roads are anticipated as well, so you're asked to plan your commute accordingly.
