Emergency crews have reopened the westbound lanes of the Cambridge section of Highway 401 after a major incident involving multiple vehicles shortly before 10 a.m.
OPP constable Scott Stratton confirmed to CambridgeToday that six-vehicles including a tractor-trailer have been involved in a collision prompting the closure of the highway between Shantz Hill Road and Hespeler Road.

Only the HOV lanes remained open to allow traffic to continue to move.
One person was airlifted to the hospital and their injuries are not known at this time.
Stratton noted that clean-up could take a few hours.
