Waterloo Region is now under a thunderstorm watch.
Environment Canada points out conditions are favourable for the development of dangerous storms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and torrential rain.
We could see wind gusts near 90 km/h, rainfall amounts possibly in excess of 50 mm, and nickel size hail.
The storms could begin late Wednesday morning and continue into the evening.
The weather agency also says tornadoes can not be ruled out. The potential for severe storms will come to an end by evening.
