Seven new officers will officially join the ranks of Waterloo Regional Police on Friday.
A badging ceremony for Recruit Class 110 will be held at the Waterloo Memorial Recreation Complex. The ceremony will get underway at 1 p.m.
Prior to joining the service, the new officers studied in various fields including sociology, criminology, marketing and advanced police studies.
The new constables recently completed their basic training at the Ontario Police College.
"It is an honour to welcome seven new members to our Service and introduce them to the community during this special ceremony," Waterloo Regional Police Chief Mark Crowell said in a news release. "Each officer has shown incredible dedication to get to this point, and we trust that they will serve Waterloo Region with compassion and care."
This will be Crowell's first badging ceremony as chief. He officially took over the role in late November.
