The Waterloo Region District School Board is reviewing its scheduling and waitlist practices for its before and after school program registration.

After a technical glitch caused frustration for Waterloo Region District School Board families trying to register their children for before and after school programs in 2024, it's hoping to hear about ways it can improve.

The issue through OneList, the system used for registration, caused delays and disruptions for families attempting to sign up.

Now, the board is seeking feedback on the process through an online survey.

Since the introduction of the Canada-wide Early Learning and Child Care funding plan, which will eventually see costs reduced to $10 per day, programs have seen an increase in demand.

The survey focuses on scheduling and management of the waitlist.

Registration for before and after school programs at both the WRDSB and Waterloo Catholic District School Board will open in the spring. The exact date will be announced once it's confirmed.
