The Waterloo Region District School Board is already thinking ahead to the next academic year.
Its opened 2025 kindergarten registration for children born in 2020 and 2021.
"Kindergarten plays a crucial role in laying a strong foundation for learning within a safe and caring play-based setting," the board said on its website.
"It allows students to develop essential skills in literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional learning."
Children born in 2021 can be enrolled in junior kindergarten, while those with a 2020 birth date are eligible for senior kindergarten.
Once registered online, an in-person appointment will be booked via email where proof of address, original birth documents, proof of custody if necessary and immunizaton records are reviewed.
