Police are still searching for a suspect who set a building on fire on Park Hill Road West last month.
On Feb. 25 Waterloo Regional Police Services along with Cambridge Fire and the Ontario Fire Marshall's office declared that a fire at 25 Park Hill Rd. W. is being investigated as an arson.
The Amy Wireless cell phone store was boarded up after fire ripped through the lower part of the building.
Communications for WRPS Melissa Quarrie confirmed that WRPS investigators, with assistance from the Ontario Fire Marshal’s Office and the Cambridge Fire Department, completed a search warrant at a building in the area of Parkhill Road West and George Street North.
"The fire is believed to have been deliberately set and is being investigated as an arson," said Quarrie in an emailed statement to CambridgeToday.
Individuals were inside of the building at the time of the fire, but no injuries were reported.
The person responsible is still at large and police could not confirm if there is any threat to public safety or if this was a targeted incident.
According to officers, witnesses reported seeing two individuals run away from the scene as the fire started.
Despite surveillance cameras on the exterior of the building, police have not released video or photos of any suspects
