UPDATE: Pedestrian taken to hospital after being struck on Franklin Boulevard

Waterloo Regional Police are releasing more information about a collision involving a pedestrian in Cambridge earlier today.

Emergency crews were called the intersection of Franklin Boulevard and Dundas Street South just before 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.

A 16-year-old was taken to an out-of-region hospital with what are being described as serious but non-life threatening injuries.

As of 7:30 p.m., Waterloo Regional Police say traffic disruptions are expected to last for several hours.

The southbound lanes on Franklin Boulevard near Dundas Street South are closed after a collision involving a pedestrian. 

Police say the pedestrian has received several injuries and has been transported to an out of region hospital. 

Police posted on their social media accounts at 6:14 p.m. about the closure and ask that drivers find alternative routes.
