As the province continues to move up its various reopening stages, the City of Cambridge is also slowly allowing more activities to take place at its facilities.

On July 16, outdoor pool capacity was increased to 50 per cent with lane and specialty swims being offered at reduced capacity to allow for people to maintain physical distancing based on regulations.

This week, indoor facilities will open following a modified schedule at WG Johnson & John Dolson Pools. The city website had more information around pre-registering and pre-screening for swims.

In the recreation and culture programming category, the city provided ways for residents to stay engaged and active from home. The old post office digital light projection show resumed. And outdoor weddings, funerals, and ceremonies were allowed with a limited capacity to allow for appropriate physical distancing.

At that time, indoor recreation programs were not available.

Now, programs at indoor facilities are now open for pre-registration. Active screening and pre-registration continues, says the city's website.

Among indoor facilities, the David Durward Centre will open Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. The Allan Reuter Centre will open on Thursdays. The William E. Paulter Centre will open Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

At this time, the Cambridge Centre for the Arts remains open for summer camps only.

Arenas will reopen to wllow for 50 per cent of their building capacity or to a maximum of 1,000 people. Active screening at these facilities will continue and attendees will be asked to maintain physical distancing and wear a face covering.

Indoor non-ice facilities will be available for booking beginning Sept. 7.

City hall remains closed to the public, however, on June 14, Service Cambridge, found on the first floor of the building, opened its counter for services.

Council meetings will continue to be streamed live via the city's YouTube channel.
