The Waterloo Region District School Board is seeking feedback about seven policies that are currently under review.

Students, families and the community can have their say on the display of flags, parent/caregiver or guardian support, sun safety and shading, the hosting of public meetings, employment, staff dress code and drug education and addictive behaviours.

All feedback will be reviewed by the staff responsible for drafting the policy and the board of trustees policy group.

"We are committed to creating a culture of consultation and transparency with the communities we serve," the board said in a statement on its website.

"The WRDSB encourages input from the community on policies. One way is to gather community feedback on WRDSB’s process for policy review."

The board offers the opportunity for community input on its policies twice a year, with the next round coming in February.

Any changes are subject to the WRDSB strategic plan and current federal, provincial and municipal legislation.

Feedback is being welcomed until Oct. 25.
