The survey will be open from June 12 to 30.

The City of Cambridge is looking for community input as it works on its 2024 budget.

The budget is a financial plan that describes how much money the city will raise and spend.

It determines the level of service the city can provide to its residents and what infrastructure will be built and repaired.

Every year the city does extensive budget planning to prepare for the upcoming year. In preparations for the 2024 budget, which will include operating forecasts for the years 2025 through 2027 and capital forecasts for 2025 through 2033, community input and council direction is taken into consideration.

“As our community continues to grow, it’s more important than ever for you to share what matters to you,” Cambridge Mayor Jan Liggett said.

“As a city, we need to strike the right balance between investing in our future, ensuring we are maintaining existing service levels, while being mindful of the financial impact on households."

Liggett hopes people will take the time to be a part of the process by filling out its survey.

“I encourage you to take our survey and have your say in this year’s budget,” she said.

“With your help we we can build a budget that reflects our shared priorities as a community and ensures we can continue to deliver quality services and keep Cambridge moving forward.”

In addition to the survey, residents will have the opportunity to register as a delegate during the council review and approval stage of the budget process in December.

The survey will run from June 12 to 30.
