NEWS RELEASE
REGION OF WATERLOO

Drawing on community feedback, GRT is sharing a vision for the future of transit services, including fast and frequent service, an overnight network, and strategic expansion for new growth areas, the townships and MobilityPLUS.
This summer, GRT collected public input to inform the Conventional Bus and Train Business Plan, MobilityPLUS and Kiwanis Transit Business Plan and Township Transit Strategy. Together, the plans will be the roadmap to guide future transit service expansion and investments.
The plans focus on how to make transit easier to use, where and when GRT can serve the community better, and how and where GRT should prioritize frequency and speed.
“GRT’s proposed plans were created from the ideas and priorities shared by our riders, community members, staff and partners,” said Karen Redman, Chair of the Region of Waterloo[KM1] . “I’m excited to hear from everyone about what they like about our vision to make GRT the easy transportation choice across Waterloo Region.”
