The Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League will look different when the 2024-25 season gets underway in September.
On Tuesday the league announced it's undergoing a conference realignment.
As part of the changes, the Western, Midwestern and Golden Horseshoe conferences will be reduced to two.
The Cambridge RedHawks, who were previously in the Midwestern Conference, are slated to join what's currently being called Conference B.
Joining the RedHawks are the Ayr Centennials, Brantford Titans, Caledon Bombers, Caledonia Corvairs, Fort Erie Meteors, Hamilton Kilty B's, Pelham Panthers, Port Colborne Sailors, St. Catharines Falcons and Welland Canadians
“Realignment is something that the GOJHL has been looking at for the past few seasons, going to two conferences makes the regular season significantly more important and it also eliminates the three team round robin that was in place for the last three seasons," interim league commissioner Tim Simmons said in a release on the league's website.
Of note, former Midwestern Conference rivals the Kitchener-Waterloo Siskins, Elmira Sugar Kings, Listowel Cyclones and Stratford Warriors have all been assigned to Conference A.
The season remains 50 games with the top eight teams in each conference qualifying for the playoffs.
Official conference names and the 2024-25 regular schedule will be released in the coming weeks.
