Grand River Transit has revised its severe weather plan in advance of winter weather blowing into the region.

During heavy snowfall or icy conditions, GRT says it may declare a severe weather event. When this happens, some bus routes will go on detour and some stops will be closed.

GRT says the aim is to minimize service interruptions by routing buses around problem areas where vehicles can get stuck in snow or icy conditions.

Severe weather events will be posted at grt.ca/alerts and the @alertsGRT Twitter.

Stops that are closed during a severe weather event have a special blue sign below the stop marker.

The map below shows street sections that are impacted during severe weather and closed stops. To see alternate stop locations, click on the closed stop icon.

A list of alternate stops and routes in a severe weather event is listed on the GRT website.
