TORONTO – Saying “yes” to ENCORE paid off for Joseph Lariviere, better known as Robert, of Elmira. He matched the last six of seven ENCORE numbers in exact order in the Dec. 11, 2024 LOTTO 6/49 draw to win $100,000!
Robert, who works in customer service, is thrilled to be celebrating his first big win! The father of three and grandfather of two plays LOTTO 6/49 and LOTTO MAX twice a week, using OLG’s Quick Pick feature to make his selections and always adding ENCORE. Robert recently shared more about how he discovered his win and what it means to him.
“I was at the store when I decided to use the ticket checker to see how I did on my LOTTO 6/49 ticket,” Robert recalled, while visiting the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his winnings. “At first, I thought the winning message said I’d won $1,000. I scanned my ticket a few more times, checking to make sure I’d read the prize amount correctly. It was a pretty exciting moment.”
“I shared the incredible news with my wife. Much like me, she was in disbelief,” Robert smiled. “Winning takes some weight off my shoulders. It’s amazing and comes with a wonderful sense of freedom,” he concluded.
With his windfall, Robert plans to pay some bills and invest.

The winning ticket was purchased at New Corner Variety on Industrial Drive in Elmira.
