PUSLINCH – Residents might have to wait until next summer to try out the new pedestrian access proposed for Puslinch Lake.
"Tentatively" scheduled for spring 2024 permitting weather and resources, construction of a new pedestrian access point to Puslinch Lake has been delayed until "some time in August" subject to work schedules and weather.
While work on the project was anticipated to start last October, an emailed statement from interim CAO Courtenay Hoytfox said the project's first delay was due to public consultation from surrounding property owners.
Following public consultation, the project was originally "tentatively" scheduled for spring 2024 permitting weather and resources.
Hoytfox said staff prioritize project scheduling based on other operational demands.
To feature a new trail, bench, fencing and decorations, the decision to build a new pedestrian access was approved as a way to delineate access to public and private land after McClintock’s Trailer Resort and Ski School restricted access to its beach and boat launch to guests and customers in July 2020.
