From family fun for all ages, to an enchanting winter ball, to haunting holiday candlelit tours, this year’s lineup offers something for everyone

Festive fun is around the corner at Region of Waterloo Museums this holiday season. From family fun for all ages, to an enchanting winter ball, to haunting holiday candlelit tours, this year’s lineup offers something for everyone.

Evening Concert featuring Three-in-the-Round (Nov. 28 from 7 to 9 p.m. at McDougall Cottage – Cambridge)

Start your holiday season musically. Featuring the music of Gwen Potter, John Harris and Bob MacLean, Three-in-the-Round will delight with their "single malt" selections of songs and tunes.

Cosmic Winter Wonderland (Dec. 7 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Ken Seiling Waterloo Region Museum – Kitchener)

Special guests Royal City Science Planetarium will offer star shows in their mobile planetarium every 45 minutes. Visitors can also enjoy snow shoeing (weather permitting), winter family games and more.

Ghosts of Christmas Past (Dec. 13 for timed entry between 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. at Schneider Haus - Kitchener)

Explore the darker side of the holidays, meet ominous figures from Christmas’ past, connect with Instagram star Hauntingly Krista and have your tarot cards read by astrology expert and psychic Diana.  

Winter Masquerade Ball (Dec. 14 from 7 to 11 p.m. at Ken Seiling Waterloo Region Museum – Kitchener)

Step into an enchanting world of elegance and history, learn to dance the Charleston while listening to a blend of modern and vintage music throughout the evening. Featuring a charcuterie grazing table, photo booth, cash bar and prizes for best dressed. This event is 19+.

Tinsel, Treats & Tinkering – Family Holiday Party (Dec. 15 for timed entry between 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Schneider Haus – Kitchener)

At this Family Holiday Party, guests can create their own Santa alarm system, make holiday cards and ornaments, or settle in for a cozy story time. Enjoy spending time with loved ones drinking hot cocoa and nibbling on holiday treats while listening to carolers.
