The Waterloo Catholic District School Board has made a significant contribution in the fight against student hunger.
Through its Nourish to Flourish campaign, students, staff and the community raised over $17,500 for Nutrition for Learning programs.
"Your contributions will make a lasting impact on the lives of students in our community," the board said on its social media pages.
"Because of you, Nutrition for Learning can continue to ensure that students focus on their education, not their hunger."
According to the board, nearly 50 per cent of students in its schools are relying on food programs.
Nutrition for Learning provides such programs to schools in Waterloo region.
Its funding comes from four primary sources; the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services, corporate partners, community foundations and grants, and public donors.
