The wait for chicken lovers is almost over.
Chick-fil-A will open its Cambridge location at 405 Hespeler Road on Jan. 16.
The restaurant is locally owned and operated by Olivia O’Brien, who will become the second multi-restaurant owner and operator in Canada. O'Brien also runs the Chick-fil-A in Kitchener.
The city's newest chicken joint will employ approximately 90 to 100 full and part-time employees.
As part of the grand opening, the company is donating around $34,000 to a local non-profit through Second Harvest, an organization that aims to cut down on food waste across the country. Since 2020, it's donated roughly $2 million to hunger relief efforts. The local recipient was not identified.
O'Brien's restaurant is also participating in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table program that supplies food surpluses to soup kitchens, shelters, food banks and non-profits in need.
Dine-in, drive-thru and take-out hours are from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
