Cambridge library joins national Culture Days celebration

Cambridge Public Library invites the community to join millions nationwide in sharing how arts, culture, and creative expression enrich our lives. They are hosting free, hands-on arts and culture activities and events as part of Culture Days from Sept. 20 to Oct. 13. With programs for makers, exhibitions, and more exciting events, Culture Days is a great chance to discover arts and culture activates at Cambridge Public Library.

Culture Days Highlights:

  • Experience exhibitions from Cambridge Art Galleries in various locations including the Fibreworks 20th Anniversary Collection Show in the Preston Gallery.
  • Get your groove on with DJ David and try out retro games provided by Operandi Gaming Community at the DJ and Retro Gaming Party at the Old Post Office on Friday, Sept. 20 (6-9 p.m.).
  • Authors Shantell Powel, Bill Coates, Cynthia Missabie, and Hope Engel read and share from the new anthology Mihko Kiskisiwin during Mihko Kiskisiwin-Blood Memory - An Indigenous Poets Society Author Event at the Old Post Office on Sunday, Sept. 22 (2-4 p.m.)
  • View the award-winning cinematic feature film Wilfred Buck (2024) presented by the NFB at the Old Post Office on Thursday, September 26 (6-8 p.m.).
  • Start creating with Cricut Basics at Preston on Wednesday, October 2 (6:30-7:30 p.m.).
  • Celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Fibreworks during the Exhibition Celebration at Queen’s Square on Friday, Oct. 4 (6-9 p.m.).

Culture Days is a national celebration of arts and culture. Culture Days programs invite the public to get hands-on and behind-the-scenes to highlight the importance of arts and culture in our communities. 2024 marks Culture Days' 15 years of celebrating art and culture Canada-wide.
