The Cambridge and District Humane Society wants people to win big while supporting animals in need with its latest fundraising initiative.
Through a monthly 50/50 raffle draw, residents can win cash and help the shelter provide critical care.
With 25 days still remaining in March, the pot is currently $1,170, with the winner taking home $585.
The shelter's medical expenses alone can range from $10,000 to $15,000 per month, with the yearly total well exceeding $100,000. As a not-for-profit, it relies heavily on donations and public support.
A compassion fund to assist people in need with medical emergencies and an emergency pet food bank is also part of the services provided to the community.
Currently, there are seven dogs, 10 cats and several small animals up for adoptions.
Participants can purchase 100 tickets for $50, 20 for $20 or 5 for $10.
The sale ends March 31 with the draw happening at 1650 Dunbar Rd on the same day.
