Sarah Nellis of Waterloo won a $5 million top prize with Instant Mega.

“It truly feels like a Christmas miracle,” said Sarah Nellis, of Waterloo, as she picked up her cheque for $5 million after winning the top prize with Instant Mega last month.

Nellis, a mother of seven, said she has been playing the lottery with OLG for many years and enjoys a variety of instant games and is now thrilled to share the news of her first ‘mega’ win!

“I scanned my ticket using the OLG app on my phone. I was certainly surprised when I saw that I’d won the top prize,” Sarah recalled, while visiting the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up her windfall.

“I shared the good news with my mom and my kids by sending them a screenshot of the winning message and asking them to check their phones. Everyone was shocked!”

“This win comes with a sense of relief,” Sarah said with a smile.

With her winnings, Sarah plans to purchase an accessible home, more Mega tickets, and a Reuben sandwich from The Daily Grill in Waterloo.

MEGA is available for $50 a play and the top prize is $5,000,000. Odds of winning any prize are 1 in 3.15.

The winning ticket was purchased at 7 Days Mini Mart on Phillip Street in Waterloo.
