Life is a little more 'grand' for Liam Parrott and Adrian Collis of Cambridge. They matched all five main numbers to win a second prize of $25,000 a year for life with Daily Grand in the June 28, 2021 draw. The pair took the lump sum prize of $500,000. They also won $2 on their Encore selection, bringing their total winnings to $500,002.
Liam said he is a regular lottery player and has been playing Daily Grand in a group with Adrian for two years. “We’ve been replaying our Quick Pick numbers and they won!” he shared while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up their winnings.
Liam said when he checked the winning numbers it was a surreal moment. “It was hard to believe because it’s such a shock. I couldn’t wait to tell my wife and Adrian,” he said. “When I told Adrian that I thought we won the second prize he kept saying are you serious?”
Liam plans to complete some home renovations and has other plans in order with his share of the winnings. “My 25th wedding anniversary is coming up, so my wife and I will plan a special trip to Ireland together,” he smiled.
OLG is currently booking in-person prize claim appointments at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto only for those claims that require a face-to-face interview. Customers with prizes over $50,000 are asked to call 1-800-387-0098 to discuss available prize claim options. Prize claims up to $49,999.90 should continue to be submitted by mail.
