From our humble beginnings as a private nine-hole golf club in 1906, through an expansion to 18 holes in 1930, the Galt Country Club has quietly developed a strong tradition as one of the premier private clubs in southwestern Ontario.
As you would expect from a golf course of this vintage, tree-lined fairways dominate the landscape, providing a natural and intimate golf experience, while the Grand River Valley adds to its natural beauty. The golf course is kept in impeccable condition, something our members are quick to point out. We are proud to say that our Stanley Thompson designed golf course has truly set the standard for private clubs in the area.
With a strong family identity today, the membership at the Galt Country Club has supported an outstanding Junior program over the years nurturing and developing both the elite amateur and professional players of today.
All levels of enthusiasts are welcome at the Galt Country Club, with a variety of leagues that meet throughout the curling season including Monday Daytime, Men’s Monday Night, Women’s Tuesday Night, Tuesday Night Major League, Wednesday/Thursday Choose Your Own Competitive, Friday Night Mixed Social.
Galt Country Club is the home of the 2007 Senior Women’s World Silver Medalists skipped by Anne Dunn. Her team’s previous accomplishments include the World Senior Women’s Championships in 2004 & 2002, Canadian and Ontario Senior Women’s Championships in 2006, 2004, 2002 & 2001 as well as representing Ontario in the 2003 Scott Tournament of Hearts. It is also the home club of Jim Armstrong, the 2014 & 2010 Paralympic Gold Medalist, winner of the 2013, 2011 & 2009 World Wheelchair Championships, and who has previously appeared in 6 Briers during the ’70s, ’80s & ’90s.
The Galt Country Club has the facilities and expertise to host a wide variety of events. From a conference to a golf day or team building meeting, to a company reception or private dinner, our attention to detail will ensure your event is a memorable success.
Our Ballroom can accommodate up to 150 guests seated with dance floor and 175 without a dance floor and up to 250 for a standing reception. Smaller private rooms are available for meetings, private dining, and executive sessions. Complete audio visual services are also available to ensure that your meeting or seminar is well received by all in attendance.
The Dining Room offers quality luncheon and evening menu selections in an elegant dining atmosphere overlooking the golf course. Open seven days a week from 11:00 am to 9:00 pm.
The Members Lounge is the perfect place to relax and unwind after a business meeting or a round of golf. Enjoy beer, wine and hand-crafted cocktails in a warm and casual atmosphere. Open daily for breakfast starting at 7:00 am (seasonal exceptions).
