Java Jax Good Roast Coffee is a family owned business which opened in October 2022. Java Jax is owned by Ruth and Greg Organ. The culmination of their skills have lead to a successful business in Cambridge, Ontario. Greg is a Red Seal Chef, certified Food Safe Instructor and was an Executive Chef for many years prior to opening Java Jax. Ruth is a CPA with many years of experience running the financial and business side of businesses large and small.
Java Jax provides products and services that define their competitive edge. Farm to table teas, locally roasted, fresh ground coffee in every cup from vendors chosen not only for the quality of product but for their social impact. They make fresh baked goods and menu items, and offer personalized catering services. In 2023 Java Jax launched a corporate and family catering line of business and has several businesses and residents in the area request catering services most weeks throughout the year.
We offer a variety of choices to suit our customers’ dietary needs, such as gluten free, vegetarian, vegan, and alternate milk products. Java Jax works with artisans’ and crafters within Ontario to expand their retail selection, giving small business owners an outlet to sell their products within the café! We are a 100% barrier free café and will provide private bookings of the café upon request. We offer free use of the café after hours for our community members to hold workshops and events.
The number one priority for Java Jax is Customer Service. We strive to delight every customer who walks through our doors. We are not order takers, rather we take the time to explain our coffee roasting aspects, beverage brewing techniques, selection of fresh food choices, specialty ingredients, and our retail selections.
Our team is interested in getting to know the client, ask their name, remember their favourite drink, find out what they like. We have created menu items based on customer requests, formulated special drinks to interest them. We modify the ingredients in many food and drink items to meet various dietary needs such as vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, lactose free and various allergies.
Community Involvement - Java Jax worked with other small businesses and organizations to support some of their events throughout the year. For example, providing 100 cups of free hot chocolate to families having pictures with Santa, 100 cups of coffee to a Breast Cancer Awareness event, and coupon for over 700 free cups of coffee to new neighbours, fundraisers and platters of cookies to the neighbouring Social Committee for their inaugural event and many auction item gift packages for fundraisers.
