Police investigate break and enter in Kitchener

Police are encouraging community members to lock doors and windows even when home and report suspicious activity

Waterloo Regional Police’s Break, Enter, and Vehicle Theft Team is continuing to investigate a residential break-and-enter in Kitchener where a security camera may have captured the suspect.

On Oct. 1, shortly after midnight, a male suspect entered a residence on Dooley Drive through a side garage door.

The homeowners were asleep inside the residence at the time of the break-in.

The suspect stole property and left the residence. He was seen getting into a four-door sedan parked on the street with its lights flashing.

On Oct. 5, at around 9:30 p.m., a second individual was observed walking up the driveway toward the same residence. No entry to the home was attempted. It is unknown if the two incidents are connected.

Police are encouraging community members to lock doors and windows even when home and report suspicious activity or individuals to police immediately at 519-570-9777.
