A Waterloo Regional Police Service constable inspects the damage to the front door of the Shawarma Box on Hespeler Road on Monday morning.

Waterloo regional police believe early-morning break-ins at three Hespeler Road businesses earlier this week were perpetrated by the same group of suspects involved in a similar incident in Waterloo an hour later.

Police say they responded to several break and enters in the region over two days.

In many of the incidences, the suspects forcefully made entry by either breaking windows or doors during early hours of the morning.

On Dec. 16, at around 4:25 a.m., three businesses in a commercial plaza in the area of Hespeler Road and Sheldon Drive in Cambridge were targeted.

Five suspects went to the plaza and broke the front glass for entry. The suspects entered the businesses and ripped the cash registers off the counters.

Approximately an hour later, a business plaza in the area of University Avenue West and King Street North was targeted. Four businesses were broken into and cash registers were again targeted.

It is being investigated as the same group responsible for both incidences.
