Midnight fight in Preston ends in stabbing, assault

One suspect is already wanted by police on a warrant, the other is a white male in his early 20s

A dispute in Preston early Sunday morning sent a 41-year-old Cambridge to hospital with a stab wound.

Waterloo regional police are investigating two Oct. 6 assaults that happened after two groups of people met in the area of Eagle Street North and Laurel Street shortly before 1 a.m.

One victim was stabbed, and another victim, a 36-year-old woman, had a noxious substance thrown on her.

The two victims were transported to a local hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

One of the suspects has been identified and a warrant for his arrest has been requested. The other suspect is described as a white male, 22-23 years old, with a medium build and brown curly hair, wearing a black shirt, pants, and shoes.

The investigation remains ongoing by WRPS’ General Investigations Unit.
